Geek night out for StarWars Episode III

It might come to a bit of a surprise to some of you since not a lot of girls do love Sci-Fi movies. At least I don’t know any who like Star Trek or StarWars. I’ve always been a fan of movies where a lot of fantasy is involved. It started all when I got to know my boyfriend, he is a Star Trek fan and so I was completely sold from the first Star Trek episode. You could say I’m a ‘late-flower’ into the world of Sci-Fi.

Inside peek at Pixar!

Ever wondered how the inside of creative power house looks like? Well here is your chance in getting a behind the scene’s tour of Pixar Animation studios. Amazing is that the creative team gets a free card into how they design their working environment. It’s pretty hard to imagine such a thing for a firm here in Belgium.

Pixar movies so far
Yes I know, the CEO is Steve Jobs, a kind of different thinker himself but still… If my memory serves me right even at Apple you have much freedom as an employee. For example it is allowed to bring your favorite pet to work. The philosophy is that a happy worker is a creative and productive one. I think there is a lot of truth in that. The guided picture tour is now open for viewing :-)

Tomorrow one of the best television shows of last year start their next season. Boy did I enjoy that journey. The show is called “Peking Express”. First let me tell you a little bit background info. 8 different couples (4 Dutch and 4 Belgian) participated in a spectacular race along the trails of trans-siberian Express! For 6 long weeks they have to find their own means of transportation and sleeping arrangements, and this on a budget of just 2 Euros per person per day!

Yesterday I watched the last episode of the 2nd season of Six Feet Under here in Belgium. Six Feet Under must be one of the most refreshing TV series I’ve seen in a while. My personal feeling is that season two was even better then the first one. What makes me love this show is that it is amazingly close to real life. From the intro movie you notice the originality and quality.

What are you watching lately?

24 I always look forward watching 2 episodes of 24 on Sunday evening. It keeps you nailed to your chair, you almost start sweating by the tension and action during the episodes. I’ve never seen anything more thrilling as 24. Alias comes very close, but still, if I really have to choose which one is the most thrilling one I would say 24.

And boy, time flies! Before you know it you see the last seconds of that hour always ending with an open answer and a big question mark on what will happen next. Always when you think Jack Bauer or Kim are out of the woods, the next trap, threat or danger lurks around the corner.

We are watching the 2nd season of 24 here in Belgium and I must say the 1st season was really OK, but with this 2nd season it’s like the writers got the hang of it and dropped all boundaries.
