I’m going to do my bit in educating people that Ibiza is much more then just a party island. For starters for such a warm and sunny destination, Ibiza remains remarkably green throughout the year. Ibiza and its little sister Formentera are known as “las Islas Pitiusas” (Greek origins), which means as much as “the pine-covered islands”.

The last thing that you probably expect on Ibiza is rural tourism. Agro tourism is a way of enjoying the beautiful countryside while learning something about the farm live. There were 10% more places in the ‘Agro tourism’ sector last year than the year before with more and more people seeing the appeal of a relaxing holiday.

It’s astonishing to think that there were only 3 Agro tourist hotels on the island as little as 5 years ago and now there are about 30! About 50% of the total Agro tourists are Germans, 20 % are British, and the Spanish make up 18% of the number.
