Beyond the party image

I’m going to do my bit in educating people that Ibiza is much more then just a party island. For starters for such a warm and sunny destination, Ibiza remains remarkably green throughout the year. Ibiza and its little sister Formentera are known as “las Islas Pitiusas” (Greek origins), which means as much as “the pine-covered islands”.

The last thing that you probably expect on Ibiza is rural tourism. Agro tourism is a way of enjoying the beautiful countryside while learning something about the farm live. There were 10% more places in the ‘Agro tourism’ sector last year than the year before with more and more people seeing the appeal of a relaxing holiday.
Inside the room
It’s astonishing to think that there were only 3 Agro tourist hotels on the island as little as 5 years ago and now there are about 30! About 50% of the total Agro tourists are Germans, 20 % are British, and the Spanish make up 18% of the number. If this type of holiday appeals to you then why not take a peek at the country hotels section here. I’m planing on taking some nice pictures of the island to publish on my blog once I’m back from holiday to show the other side of Ibiza.

You might also like to have a look, if you haven’t already, at Andalucia, and the Costa del Sol. Apart from the touristic (and well-known) costal areas, there is really a lot of beautiful land to see, and interesting things to do.

I have only seen Ibiza in those party shows on E! TV so it is nice to see some beautiful non-party photos.

Keep them coming.

@Jorge: The name of this hotel is Can Lluc Agroturisme. You can find more information about it here . It’s indeed a very nice hotel.

Be carefull when dealing with this
spanish builder. They give 10 days notice of comletion threatening loss of deposit, and then leave commuanl areas
and work in apartments undone.
