Twenty Ten + sneak peek of Veerle’s blog 3.0
2010 at 03.46 pm posted by Veerle Pieters
The break between Xmas and New Year was over before I even fully realized that two weeks have past. I’ve made some great progress working on my new blog during that break. Work has been in full swing already so I hope that I can spend my weekends working on it further. I started sharing some random bits on my Twitter feed. If you follow you’ll understand why it is taking so long, plus I don’t like half work ;)
Twenty Ten
In other news, partner of this site Authentic Jobs is running a sweet campaign. Regular readers will know that there is this yearly promotion. This year however we are going to do something a little different.

We're calling it the Twenty Ten promotion. It works like this: Post a listing between now and January 22 and you'll receive 20% off your listing. More importantly, 10% of your purchase will be donated to Charity:Water to help bring clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.
Promo code
Use promo code VEERLE10.
You may also join in and donate to our campaign independent of posting a listing. We're hoping to raise $5,000, which is enough to fund the development of a freshwater well in one village.
Here's to a fantastic (and cleaner) 2010. Oh right, one more thing!

Hi Veerle.
Great initiative with the Twenty Ten promo!
Very nice teaser too :-) Can’t wait to see the whole thing…
2
Can’t wait for version 3.0! I follow your work since the launch of version 2.0, and I still think it’s so fresh and authentic. Big fan :)

Great promotion idea and illustration.
But why not 20% donation and 10% off?
(Veerle: because it is more attractive this way to get more listings which means more donations. With 10% off less jobs would probably be posted so less donations even with 20%)

Ben, I had to read it twice but if you think about it the promotion represents a 30% cut in what they make not a 10%. Basically they are giving you a 20% cut and then taking an additional 10% cut out of what you did pay to give to the Charity.
All in all a pretty awesome promotion!

i can’t wait to see your new blog design.

PS One trend i am noticing on many of the big new web sites are the big graphic header at the top of the page.
PPS Veerle I assume that your new site is done on EE2.0 ... does this mean that you are doing without any 3rd party plugins or modules? I ask because maybe i shouldn’t put off my new re-design any longer…
12
Can’t wait to see the finished product! But I’ll be sad if this one goes :( been following this blog for quite some time now.
